Once upon a mossy night...

Shy-eyed lilies parting
sugar dew,
they were starfish kissing
between the holes in the rain;
elephants or ocelots pulling faces
over soft marshmallow tongues
too sweet to tango.

Leaves of cotton, stains of weather,
days adrift in petals too lazy
to answer the riddles of hearts
and teeth…
